The Sermon Tradition

From the very beginning of Christianity, preaching and teaching were central to church life and experience. Likewise, the preaching and teaching ministries at OBC (which include the Sunday morning message preached in our main service as well as the many Bible studies which take place during our Sunday school hour and also on Wednesday night) are central to what we do at OBC. 

At Olney Baptist Church, we believe that the Bible is the Word of God. By that, we mean that the Bible is an accurate record of the revelation of God given through the apostles and the prophets as well as Jesus Christ Himself. All of the preaching and teaching you will here at OBC is, to the best of our ability, based on the Bible. 

It is our hope that you will be encouraged, inspired, and nourished from the Word of God via our teaching and preaching ministries.
